Annie is from River Falls, Wisconsin, and a 2015 graduate of River Falls High School where as a senior in 2014 she won the Wisconsin D1 (large schools) State Cross Country individual title, took fourth at the Nike Heartland XC Midwest Regional, and placed seventh at the Foot Locker Midwest Regional.  In addition, she placed in the top 25 at both Footlocker and Nike Nationals. She also finished third at the 2015 Wisconsin D1 State Track & Field meet in the 1600 with a time of 4:59.

At Iowa State University, her best times were 9:23 in the 3000m, 15:53 in the 5000m, and 32:58 in the 10,000m along with a 6k cross country time 20:15.  The All-American for the Cyclones competed in the NCAA D1 Cross Country Championships, finishing as high as 34th, as well as at the NCAA West Region Preliminary Rounds in the 10,000m.  In the 2018 Big 12 Outdoor Track Championships she was second in the 10,000 and third in the 5000m. 

Since becoming a professional runner after graduation, she ran in the 2019 USA 10 Mile Championships in October and finished fifth in a debut time of 54:00.   Recently finished 3rd at the 2021 USATF 10K Championship at Peachtree on July 4th with a PR of 32:06. At the 2021 NYC Marathon, she ran the 4th fastest debut ever for a U.S. woman, and the 4th fastest time ever for a U.S. woman on the NYC course.

Annie joined Minnesota Distance Elite in September 2019.
