Danny is a native of St. Paul and a graduate of Cretin-Derham Hall High School where he competed in track and cross country. He was a two-time All-State performer at the Minnesota State Track & Field Championships finishing fourth in the 3200 and fifth in the 1600m. He was a six-time State Meet qualifier from 2006-08 in the 3200m, 1600m, and cross country. His championship performances include three Section 4AA titles in cross country and track. In the fall of 2007, Danny was a dual-sport conference champion in cross country and soccer.
His collegiate achievements at Loyola include qualifying for the 2012 NCAA West Preliminary Round in the 10000m, a 5000m runner-up performance at the 2012 Horizon League Indoor Championships, a 12th place at the 2011 Horizon League Cross Country Championships, and a pair of fifth-place finishes at the 2009 Horizon League Outdoor 1500m and 2010 Indoor Mile.
He is finding his stride this past year on the roads with new personal bests in the 15k, 10 Mile and Half Marathon.
Danny joined Minnesota Distance Elite in July 2017.
