Minneapolis/St. Paul – April 29, 2019 – Team USA Minnesota’s distance runners recorded podium results at both the Drake Relays and the Get in Gear 10k this past week, with Breanna Sieracki winning the women’s 3000-meter steeplechase at the Drake Relays on April 25; Katy Jermann finishing second at the Get in Gear 10k on April 27; and Heather Kampf notching third place in the women’s invitational 1500-meter race at the Drake Relays on April 27.

Sieracki’s time in the steeple at the Drake Relays in Des Moines was 9:59.33.  It was her opening steeplechase of the season – she has a personal best in the event of 9:56. In February, Sieracki won the NACAC (North America, Central America & Caribbean Athletic Association) Cross Country Senior Women’s 10k Championship, which was held in Trinidad.

In Minneapolis on Saturday morning, Katy Jermann posted a personal best time of 32:44 (previous best was 33:09) to place second at the 42nd annual Get in Gear 10k.  Dakotah Lindwurm finished in fourth place in 33:44, which was a minute PR in the distance for her (previous best was 34:47).

Competing in the men’s field at the Get in Gear 10k were Danny Docherty who was fifth in 30:18, and Tyler Jermann who was sixth in 30:32 (previous best was 30:53).  Docherty and Katy Jermann were also the winners of the USATF Minnesota 10k Championships which were part of the Get in Gear event.

On the final day of the Drake Relays, Kampf placed third in the women’s invitational 1500-meter race.  Her time was 4:13.65 on a cold and blustery afternoon.  Earlier in the week, she was second in the USATF Road Mile Championships, which were held in conjunction with the Grand Blue Mile.
