Minneapolis/St. Paul – July 23, 2019 – Four Team USA Minnesota distance runners – Heather Kampf, Breanna Sieracki, Kevin Lewis and Joel Reichow - will be among the competitors at the USATF Outdoor Championships that will be held at Drake Stadium in Des Moines July 25-28. Kampf leads off her teammates on Thursday at 5:30 p.m. with the first round of the women’s 1500 meters. The final of the women’s 1500m will then be held on Saturday at 3:43 p.m. Lewis and Reichow are in the field of 24 men competing in the 10,000 meter race on Thursday evening at 9:29. This is the final for the 10,000m and will be the last race of the day. On Sunday, which will be the concluding day of the championships, Sieracki will run in the final of the women’s 5000 meters at 6:42 p.m. The USATF Outdoor Championships are being held a month later than usual this summer due to the timing of the IAAF World Outdoor Championships which will be held Doha, Qatar, from Sept. 28 through Oct. 6. USA Outdoor serves as a selection event for World Outdoor. Events on the Blue Oval at Drake University Stadium will be broadcast each day. To watch the Team USA Minnesota athletes, tune in to NBC Sports Gold which covers Thursday’s schedule starting at 2:45 p.m., NBC on Saturday from 3-5 p.m., and Sunday’s coverage will be on NBC Sports Network from 6-7 p.m. and on NBC from 7-8 p.m.
