The Berlin Marathon, part of the Abbott World Marathon Majors race series, was first run in 1974 and last year had over 40,000 finishers.  The race starts and ends near the Brandenburg Gate and is known as having a flat and fast course.  The race starts at 9:15 a.m. in Berlin.

Peyton has a best in the marathon of 2:36:26 which she set last December at the California International Marathon.  That time is an ‘A’ qualifier for the 2020 U.S. Olympic Marathon Trials which will be held Feb. 29 in Atlanta.

TCO Vikings 5k – Sept. 29

Kevin Lewis will make his third consecutive appearance at the TCO (Twin Cities Orthopedics) Vikings 5k, a race he won last year and placed second at in 2017.  The event will be held at TCO Stadium at Vikings Lakes in Eagan, which is the home of the Minnesota Vikings professional football team.  The race begins at 10:00 a.m. and finishes on the 50 yard line of the stadium.

Navy Mile – Oct. 6

In Washington, D.C., Heather Kampf will be looking for a three-peat in the Navy Mile, having won the race in 2018 and 2016.  The fifth annual Navy Mile is the final race of the year for the Bring Back the Mile 2019 Grand Prix Tour.  The female elite mile starts at 11:15 a.m. (Eastern).

Kampf, who is a four-time U.S. Road Mile Champion, most recently finished seventh at the 5th Avenue Mile in New York City on Sept. 8, and prior to that was second at the Hoka Long Island Mile on Sept. 4.
