Athlete Support
Minnesota Distance Elite provides the following to selected athletes: Coaching, monthly stipend, indoor and outdoor training facilities, strength training facilities, assistance in finding a part-time job with a flexible work schedule (if possible in a career field), access to a designated medical team that specializes in runners, assistance with locating housing, travel and lodging support for competitions, among other resources. Athletes are also able to arrange their own shoe company contracts.
The training center can accommodate up to 15 athletes, both male and female, who have the talent, drive, and determination to be national, international, and Olympic-caliber distance runners. Post-collegiate athletes are selected through an application and review process. To request an application, complete the contact form.
Donations
Minnesota Distance Elite relies on the generosity and support of individual contributors. We are a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization - operated by a 14-member, volunteer-based Board of Directors - whose purpose is to improve and enhance American distance running.
With your help, Minnesota Distance Elite provides 10-12 selected athletes with stipends and travel expenses as they train to compete in national, international, and Olympic competitions.
